ART FOR THE WALLS THAT NEED SOMETHING WEIRDER.
Hand-painted on natural linen and hung from pieces of weathered found wood, these one-of-a-kind wall hangings live somewhere between textile art, botanical sketch, and something we may have made up entirely.
The raw fringed edges stay raw. The wood stays crooked. The brushstrokes look like brushstrokes. Each one is made by hand by naiya republic, so small imperfections and variations are very much part of the deal.
Long and narrow, they’re particularly good for those awkward bits of wall where nothing else seems to work. Between windows. Beside a doorway. At the end of a hallway. Or wherever your wall could stand to be a little less boring.
Leeward
A loose, wind-bent botanical beneath a big black sun, equal parts plant, landscape, and whatever you decide it is.
Sunblind
Two strange, spindly forms reaching toward a black sun, like something that might grow somewhere just slightly off the map.
Hand-painted natural linen
Weathered found wood + jute hanger
Raw fringed edges
Approx. 11" W × 36" L, excluding hanging cord
Made by hand by naiya republic
Each piece is one of a kind
Available in person this summer.
